I have seen these images posted elsewhere, and too often the only response from French readers is "But you have a lot of poor people in America."

Yes, we do have a lot of poor people in America. The difference is, for decades the French elite running the government have pretended their shit doesn't stink.

I am amazed that homeless people are sleeping in tents on the Champs Elysées. Stunned, in fact.
